Anuice - FDA Approved Hemorrhoid Treatment

Anuice is a non-drug hemorrhoid treatment. It employs the principle of cryotherapy to cauterize hemorrhoids and promote its healing. Is Anuice effective? Yes. This article discusses how to get the best results from Anuice, how cryotherapy works and how Anuice is well-designed to be useful in treating all kinds of internal and external hemorrhoids.

Alert: This article is for informational purposes only. Anuice is not affiliated with progressivehealth.com or sold on this website.

What is Anuice?

Anuice is a popular brand of cold therapy applicator intended for use in the treatment of hemorrhoids.

This hemorrhoid product is manufactured by Cryotherapy Pain Relief Products Inc. It is made of a hospital-grade plastic applicator and it contains a coolant. While not in use and during freezing, the coolant-containing applicator is meant to be stored inside a special container included in the product package.

Anuice is reusable, simple to use and it can retain cold much longer than ice.

Unlike ice which melts rapidly, a frozen Anuice applicator can impact cold for 5 – 10 minutes on the tissues on which it is applied.

The kind of cold therapy that Anuice provides has been proven to be effective in the treatment of hemorrhoids.

This cold treatment can relieve pain and reduce inflammation in the engorged vessels of hemorrhoids. While shrinking the hemorrhoidal veins, it stops bleeding and itching; promotes healing; and reduces spasm in the anorectal region.

The Design of Anuice

Because Anuice represents a drug-free hemorrhoid treatment, it presents with no side effects. This FDA-approved device is odorless, economical, and well-designed. It can be reused for up to 6 months and used at home and without assistance.

Since Anuice is not formulated with synthetic chemicals or herbs, there is no risk of irritation, dryness, and allergic reactions on the tissues on which it is applied. Therefore, it is safer than most of the conventional and herbal hemorrhoid products on the market.

Anuice also excels in design. For example, Anuice includes 4 different applicator caps so that users can find the one that perfectly fits and stays in contact with the swollen tissues of the rectum.

These multiple applicator caps also make it possible to use Anuice for both internal and external hemorrhoids.

These caps are large enough that they cannot accidentally hurt the user if the applicator is inserted too deeply into the anus. The caps have rounded corners so that they do not tear into the walls of the anorectal tissues.

Other aspects of Anuice design include the lubricant supplied with the product. This lubricant is water-based rather than alcohol-based. Therefore, like the hemorrhoid product itself, it cannot irritate the soft tissues of the anorectal region.

The lubricant eases the insertion of Anuice and it is made with the same quality as the main product.

How to Use Anuice

The first step in using Anuice is to store it in the freezer. Therefore, leave the applicator in the freezer for 2 hours.

For internal hemorrhoids, store the applicator in its supplied container with the tube pointing down. However, store the applicator with the tube pointing upwards if you intend to treat external hemorrhoids.

After 2 hours of freezing, bring out the Anuice package and remove the applicator from its container.

If you are treating internal hemorrhoids, apply the supplied lubricant to the cap of the applicator. No lubrication is needed for treating external hemorrhoids.

To prepare for insertion, lie on your side and bend one knee towards your chest so that the anus is widened. For internal hemorrhoids, insert the tube section into the rectum and leave it in for 5 – 8 minutes or until it is no longer cold. For external hemorrhoids, insert the other end of the applicator into the rectum.

After application, clean the applicator by washing with soap and warm water. Chemical disinfectants may be used but not hot water. Replace the applicator in its plastic package and return it to the freezer.

Anuice should be applied in this way at least 4 times daily. In severe cases, more frequent applications may be needed for quick results.

Furthermore, keeping two Anuice applicators can halve the time it takes for hemorrhoids to resolve. Besides, two applicators can be used to treat internal and external hemorrhoids at the same time.

Anuice should be continued for a while after the hemorrhoidal pain and discomfort have disappeared. This will continue healing and reduce the chances of new hemorrhoids developing soon after. Internal hemorrhoids can be resolved in 1 – 2 weeks of Anuice use but external hemorrhoid usually takes 1 month to fully heal.

Cryotherapy in the Treatment of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are actually vascular bodies normally found inside the anal canal. They are essential for controlling the passage of stool down the canal. These vascular bodies are made of blood vessels and connective tissues all of which serve as a cushion to make stooling comfortable.

However, when these vascular cushions become inflamed, they come piles or, as commonly known, hemorrhoids.

Internal hemorrhoids are usually painless but accompanied by bleeding while external hemorrhoids can be quite painful and accompanied by swelling especially when the blood vessels are thrombosed and engorged.

The exact causes of hemorrhoids are unknown but a number of factors are known to contribute to the appearance of this condition. These factors include:

  • Constipation, diarrhea and other irregular gastrointestinal movements
  • Diets with low fiber content
  • High abdominal pressure from pregnancy, abdominal masses, chronic cough or prolonged straining
  • Old age and weak valves in the veins supplying hemorrhoids
  • Genetic predisposition

The treatments of hemorrhoids range from dietary changes (increasing fluid and fiber intake) and sitz baths to drugs like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and surgery.

When these treatments fail, cauterization can be attempted. Cauterization involves the application of heat, cold and other agents to seal bruised, bleeding hemorrhoids as well as shrink the swelling.

The simplest form of the cauterization techniques employed in hemorrhoid treatment is cryotherapy.

Cryotherapy is the application of low temperature to treat lesions. Usually, it involves the use of super-cooled gases or liquids known as coolants. For local cryotherapy on a specific part of the body, the coolant is stored in a device that can be applied to the affected area.

Such a coolant-containing device can be frozen and used repeatedly as long as the coolant can radiate temperatures low enough to numb the body part it is applied to.

How Cryotherapy Works
  • Reduce cellular metabolism
  • Crystalized the cytosol of cells and so destroy them
  • Shrink benign or malignant lesions and cause vasoconstriction
  • Reduce the activities of muscle spindle fibers as well as muscle spasticity
  • Reduce nerve conduction
  • Reduce inflammation, spasm, and pain

Applying an ice pack on swelling is a form of cryotherapy.

Cryotherapy is a non-invasive treatment method that has been used in medicine and in different cultures for thousands of years.

In a 1982 paper published in the journal, Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, the researchers compared various hemorrhoid treatments including injection, surgery, and cryotherapy.

With over 500 treatment procedures considered, the researchers concluded that cryotherapy is the most effective and with the least side effects in the treatment of internal hemorrhoids.

A 1983 study published in the Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, examined how effective cryotherapy was in the treatment of hemorrhoids.

In this study, cryosurgery was the kind of cryotherapy employed. It is similar to the kind of cryotherapy provided by-products such as Anuice except that the coolant was nitrous oxide at a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius.

The cryotherapy was performed for 104 patients suffering from second and third-degree hemorrhoids along with those with thrombosed piles.

The coolant used in this study is more drastic than the one found in Anuice or similar commercial cryotherapy products. Operating at such low temperature, exposure to the coolant was generally short. The optimal freezing time was 2 minutes for patients who did not have swelling.

In addition, the drastic cryotherapy done in this study was a one-off procedure and the patients were fit to be discharged from the hospital the next day.

The results of the study showed that by the first month, 85% of the patients who had the cryosurgery were satisfied with the outcome. By the third month, 89% indicated that their hemorrhoids were healed, and by the sixth month, all the patients treated were healed.

The study concluded that cryotherapy was effective and safe for treating even advanced cases of hemorrhoids.

Not only were the cryotherapy treatments effective, but they also produced very few complications and they come with very few instances of recurring hemorrhoids.

Is Anuice Effective?

Anuice is an effective treatment for hemorrhoids. It faithfully follows the principles of cryotherapy and when applied according to the recommended directions, it can heal hemorrhoids quickly.

Most users of Anuice are satisfied with the result. Some of the qualities of Anuice that users commonly mention include its ease of use, the ability to re-use it, the design of the product, the immediate relief after inserting the cold applicator, and the lack of side effects.

Of course, Anuice does not work for everyone but it works for most of the hemorrhoid patients.

Anuice does not need to be supplemented with other hemorrhoid products. In fact, the concurrent use of Anuice and topical hemorrhoid products is discouraged.

Overall, this FDA-approved product has a good track record of safety and effectiveness. When other hemorrhoid treatments fail, Anuice is highly recommended.
