Tucks Hemorrhoid Ointment has been around for years. It provides instant relief from itching, burning, and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids.

It contains effective ingredients that are known to fight the root causes of the problem and give you a trouble free life.

How Does It Work?

Tucks is highly effective in providing relief from pain. This is the key difference between Tucks Hemorrhoidal Ointment and other ointments.

Unlike other hemorrhoid ointments that contain vasoconstrictors, Tucks contains pramoxine HCI, an effective pain reliever that provides fast relief from pain and itching.

This product is particularly effective in alleviating hemorrhoids symptoms such as pain, burning, and itching.

Most reviews will tell you that Tucks ointment provides instant relief from pain.

Some hemorrhoids sufferers have mentioned that the ointment provided relief when even the softest toilet paper felt like sandpaper.

Tucks also helped people who were unable to sit comfortably due to pain caused by enlarged hemorrhoids.

Another advantage of using this medication is that it easy to apply. It does not drip or stain the underwear.

What Are The Ingredients?

Tucks contains pramoxine HCI, which is a pain reliever. It provides fast temporary relief from skin inflammation.

It is particularly effective in alleviating hemorrhoid symptoms such as pain, burning, and itching.

Pramoxine is a topical anesthetic. It stops the nerve ending from giving out pain signals to the brain.

Tucks also contains mineral oil and zinc oxide, which act as protectants. They coat the affected areas and provide protection during the healing process.

The product also contains inactive ingredients such as benzyl benzoate, calcium phosphate dibasic, cocoa butter, glyceryl monooleate, glyceryl monostearate, kaolin, peruvian balsam, and polyethylene wax.

How Pramoxine Works

Pramoxine is also called Pramocaine. It is used as the hydrochloride salt in topical hemorrhoid products.

The primary function of Pramoxine is to numb the area on which it is applied. In this way, it provides immediate pain relief for those whose hemorrhoids are raw and sensitive. It is also effective for providing relief from itching and other pain sensations experienced with hemorrhoids.

Pramoxine is water-soluble and, therefore, easily absorbed into the skin. It works as a local anesthetic by blocking the transmission of pain signals at the nerve endings in the skin.

Tucks hemorrhoid ointment is quite unlike other hemorrhoid ointments. All it does is provide relief from pain and help the healing process. It does not reduce inflammation or shrink the swollen blood vessels of piles. Yet Tucks ointment is one of the most popular medications prescribed for hemorrhoids.

It provides a fast pain relief. This is, however, temporary and the ointment must be applied to the anal region repeatedly until the hemorrhoids are fully healed.

Therefore, Tucks should be combined with other hemorrhoid remedies. People with painful hemorrhoids especially those whose hemorrhoids are sensitive to touch and who cannot sit down for long will benefit the most from this ointment.

Direction Of Use:

Tucks Hemorrhoid Ointment is for external use only. It must be kept out of reach of children.

If accidentally swallowed, you must immediately seek medical help or contact the Poison Control Center.

Another important caution – You must follow the directions carefully, and not use more than the amount mentioned in the directions, unless prescribed to do so.

Do not use your fingers, any mechanical device or applicator to apply ointment into the rectum. You must only use the dispensing cap provided with the product.

Clean the affected area with mild soap & warm water or a witch hazel wipe. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Now, apply the medication using the dispensing cap.

Remember to apply ointment only on the affected area. Clean the applicator after use. The medicine should be applied five times a day or as prescribed by the doctor.

What Are The Side Effects?

Excessive use of Pramoxine may cause side effects such as burning, stinging, swelling and tenderness at the application site.

You must contact a doctor immediately if you experience any allergic reaction, rectal bleeding, irritation, redness, swelling, or pain.

Is It Safe For Pregnant Women?

Some medical conditions may interact with Tucks.  If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor before using this medication.
