Exulin Research:

L-Phenylalanine - An amino acid the body needs to produce neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are used to influence emotional and mental states. Several studies indicate that L-Phenylalanine can produce results equal to or better than tricyclic antidepressants while causing no side effects. (1, 2) Results are generally seen within 2-4 weeks.

Rhodiola Rosea Ext.- Helps transport these nutrients to the brain: tryptophan, 5-HTP, and serotonin. May help decrease enzymes that break down serotonin.

Vitamin B6 - Helps tryptophan convert into serotonin. A deficiency in vitamin B6 may cause depression and anxiety because your body has limited levels of serotonin. (3)

Folic Acid - According to the doctors at the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School- depressive symptoms are commonly a sign of folic acid deficiency. (4) In one study, people with severe depression were given folic acid or placebo for six months. Patients who were given folic acid showed substantial improvements in depression scores over those who were given the placebo. (5)

Methylcobalamin - A deficiency in Methylcobalamin has been associated with depression in the elderly.

St John's Wort Ext. - Studies have shown that St Johns Wort may be an effective solution to help with mild to moderate depression. (6, 7,8)

Ginkgo Biloba Ext. - Is often used in combination with St. John's Wort to help with severe cases of depression. (9)
