Cayenne is known to have several health benefits. It can be used as an effective remedy for hemorrhoids.

If you have hemorrhoids, don’t feel embarrassed or shy. You are not alone. Nearly 50 to 75% of adults suffer from this condition at least once in their lifetime.

The good news is that there are several effective remedies available to help you get rid of hemorrhoids

Though there are many over-the-counter medications available, you will be surprised to know that you can actually use home remedies to get relief.

Cayenne is a remedy that can be used from home. It is known to have several medicinal properties that can help in reducing pain caused by hemorrhoids.

Recent studies have revealed that cayenne can be used for improving the cardiovascular system, cleansing blood, and healing blood vessels.

John R. Christopher, a recognized herbalist, and a naturopathic doctor published a book on how Cayenne helped a bodybuilder get rid of hemorrhoids.

But, is it really effective? Let’s find out.

How Does It Work?

Cayenne is a powerful and effective stimulant. It aids in improving blood circulation inside the body.

As a hemostat, it effectively stops the flow of blood from a wound or cut. This helps in providing relief from bleeding hemorrhoids.

The herb improves digestion and cleanses the entire system. This facilitates easy bowel movements.

Cayenne also aids in reducing itching and swelling of veins in and around the rectal area.

Direction For Use:

You can include cayenne in your diet by taking in a glass of lukewarm water with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cayenne.

Follow this treatment method daily for a few days until the hemorrhoids are gone.

Even after the hemorrhoids are gone, you must take cayenne with lukewarm water once or twice a day to stop them from reoccurring.

This natural hemorrhoid remedy is more effective in reducing hemorrhoid symptoms when accompanied by a high fiber diet

Some people prefer using cayenne topically on the affected area, instead of taking it orally.

However, you must be careful as this method can cause burning in the rectal area. This is not recommended if you have bleeding hemorrhoids.

What Are The Side Effects?

Though Cayenne does not have any serious side effects, some people may experience itching, burning, and irritation.

If you notice any of the above-mentioned symptoms, stop using this remedy and call your doctor immediately.

Are There Any Drug Interactions?

Cayenne preparations may interact with the following medications

ACE inhibitors: You must not take ACE inhibitors (captopril, enalapril, and lisinopril) when using cayenne preparations.

You must consult with your doctor before starting, stopping, or altering any doses.

Stomach acid reducers: Cayenne preparations can increase stomach acid. You must not take them with the following medications:

Cimetidine (Tagamet), ranitidine (Zantac), famotidine (Pepcid), omeprazole (Prilosec), and esomeprazole (Nexium).

Cayenne preparations may reduce the effectiveness of aspirin to alleviate pain. This may also increase the risk of bleeding.

Cayenne preparations may also increase the risk of bleeding associated with certain blood-thinning medications such as warfarin and heparin.
